Almost 700 visitors took part at the famous St. Martin’s parade at Biesdorf Center last Friday, 11th November. Alongside a colourful lantern parade, the visitors could take part at a puppet theatre show and a fire and light show together with their families.

The high number of attendees of this year’s event demonstrates the positive influence of the social component of Greenman OPEN’s ESG strategy. The initiatives that OPEN organises at their centres focus heavily on community engagement, supporting the local neighbourhood. OPEN’s retail centres aim to be anchored in the heart of the community.

David O’Meara, Head of Distribution emphasises: “As owners and managers of the Biesdorf Center, not only our tenants and customers are our top priority, but also the community in and around Biesdorf. c. 20% of Germany’s population lives within a 15-minute drive of one of OPEN’s retail centres so we have access to a very large demographic. We highly value that the local population is engaged with our centres and gets involved in our events. The participation of almost 700 visitors at the Biesdorf Center’s St. Martin’s parade demonstrates that people identify themselves with this retail location that is so significant for the region.”
